M. Shahidul Islam, MScEcon,

is currently Research Fellow at the Institute of Governance Studies, BRAC University, Bangladesh.


He is also involved with Bangladesh Urban Research Institute (BURI), PPRC and member of the China Study Group. Mr Islam received a Master's degree in Economics from the National University of Singapore. His research interests are open economy macroeconomics, institutional economics, urbanisation and China-Bangladesh relations.
